Across the United States, cases of measles, a vaccine preventable disease, are occurring. Consider this in your spring travel plans and check the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention or state health department websites for details about the area(s) you are traveling. As of March 14, 2024, Wisconsin Department of Health Services reports zero (0) cases of measles of in Wisconsin. However, neighboring Illinois has reported cases. If you are un- or under immunized for measles, consider vaccination, monitor for symptoms, seek medical care for a suspect case (CALL AHEAD for special instructions to prevent spread), and stay home for the duration of the isolation period.
